Monster Sea Creatures of the World

Monster sea creatures are believed to exist around the world including the East and West coast of United States, the United Kingdom and Europe. Here we investigate these sea creatures around the world including their shapes, sizes and appearances.

Some of the monster sea creatures are scientifically proven. The various breeds of whales around the world, colossal squid and giant squid are such monster sea creatures. We could simply class these as large sea creatures rather than monsters.

On the other hand some monster sea creatures may or may not exist. They could be mythical or yet to be scientifically proven. Sea serpents, sea dragons and multi arm creatures fall in to this category.

Chessie of the Chesapeake Bay

Chesapeake Bay is located in the Atlantic ocean in the East coast of the United States surrounded by the states of Maryland and Virginia. Chesapeake Bay is the largest estuary in the United States. Here lives Chessie of the Chesapeake Bay.

Chessie is believed to have a dark serpent like body with flippers. It is believed that Chessie is around 30 feet long and is a slow swimmer. Chessie is believed to be a friendly character with no one fearing this monster sea creature.

Its appearance is said to be similar to that of the Loch Ness Monster in Scotland with the video tape from Robert and Karen Frew, which shows something moving from side to side like a water snake.

There is belief that the sightings of a monster sea creature in the Chesapeake Bay may be confused with the existence of a real manatee which was first captured in 1994. The manatee was electronically tagged and returned back to its origins in Florida, only to find its return back to Chesapeake Bay.

Ogopogo of Okanagan Lake

Ogopogo is a lake monster of Canada believed to be living in Lake Okanagan in British Columbia. Ogopogo is around 30 to 40 feet long and has a sea serpent type body with a horse shaped head. This monster sea creature of Canada has some resemblance to the Loch Ness Monster Nessie of Scotland.

Ogopogo was first sighted in 1872 by Mrs. John Allison. The most convincing sighting was in 1926 at Okanagan Mission beach. The sighting was witnessed by a large number of people in around 30 cars. Sightings of Ogopogo has been regular than that of Nessie.

Nessie of Loch Ness

Nessie is a type of Sea Serpent and hence classed as a monster sea creature. Nessie lives South West of the Scottish town of Inverness in Scotland's second deepest lake, Loch Ness. The first evidence of Nessie was in 1934 through an image known as the Surgeon's photograph.

Controversial video evidence of Nessie followed soon after in 1938. The main reason was for the controversy was the fact its owner Maurice Burton refused to show the video to the investigators. However, a frame from the video was published in his book The Elusive Monster.

The most recent video evidence comes in 2007 from a scientist Gordon Holmes showing a long black creature moving rapidly in the lake. This amazing video can be seen below.

It is incredible that these debates and sightings of these monster sea creatures continue world wide without any positive scientific proof of their existence. These monster sea creatures are possibly believed in to a larger extent than alien landings. One day may be some positive evidence will prove the existence or the non existence of these monster sea creatures of the world for once and all.
